Planning your project

Decisions that shape a home ironwork project

Thinking through these before you call makes the conversation faster and the result better.

Security, privacy or style
A fence or gate can be mostly decorative, mostly protective, or both. Picket spacing, height and infill decide how open or private the result feels.
Pets, children and pools
Spacing between pickets, self-closing hinges and latch height matter around pools and play areas. Mention who and what the barrier needs to contain.
HOA and neighborhood rules
Many neighborhoods set rules for height, color and style. Check with your HOA early so the design you choose can be approved.
Ground, slope and existing posts
Slopes, utilities, tree roots and old concrete all change how posts are set and panels are stepped. Tell us what is already there.
Finish and maintenance
Paint and powder coat behave differently in Texas heat and sun. We talk through finish options and how to keep the metal looking good.

Questions

Homeowner questions

Homeowner questions
Can you match the look of my existing fence or gate?

Often, yes. Photos and measurements help us talk through picket style, rail profile, height and color so a new section or gate sits comfortably alongside what you have.

Do I need to be home during the work?

Usually someone needs to be available at the start and end of the job to confirm layout, access and results. We discuss access, pets and gate codes when scheduling.

Can you handle HOA approval requirements?

HOA approval is typically the homeowner’s responsibility, but we can talk through dimensions, style and finish so your submission is clear. Check your neighborhood guidelines before the design is finalized.

Do you work on railings and stairs inside the home?

Yes. Interior stair railings, balcony guards and spiral staircases are part of our work. For stairs and guards, the safety considerations and applicable approvals are reviewed for your specific project.

Ready to talk through your project?
