Larger lots mean bigger gates

If your property sits on a larger lot, the entrance may be wide, the drive long and the gate heavy. Weight is the central design issue. A wide gate swings or slides on posts that carry real leverage, so footings, post size and hinge or carriage hardware all matter more than appearance.

We plan these entrances around the structure first and the styling second, then bring the two together so the gate looks right and keeps working. If a gate will be automated, the structure must account for the operator from the start.

Which gate suits which Fort Worth property

Larger residential lots
Heavy double swing gates between steel or masonry posts, often with an operator. Plan for wide approaches and vehicles with trailers.
Standard city lots
Single or double swing driveway gates, or sliding gates if space is tight. Matching the fence and house style is usually the priority.
Business yards and lots
Sliding or heavy swing gates built for frequent use, with access control and safety devices considered from the start.

Planning a large entrance

  1. Step 1

Measure the opening and note the approach

Width between posts, slope and how vehicles approach all affect gate type.

  2. Step 2

    List the vehicles

Trucks, trailers and equipment decide opening width and post placement.

  3. Step 3

    Decide on automation

Operators change the structure. Decide before fabrication.

  4. Step 4

Review scope and scheduling by phone

We confirm the work and discuss realistic scheduling.
